Man arrested for felony DWI after traffic stop

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A man was caught driving while intoxicated for a second time in the last 10 years.

On Friday, John Vrabel, 59, of Binghamton was stopped for speeding on Prospect Street.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, Vrabel showed signs of intoxication and was asked to take a sobriety test.

The test concluded that Vrabel was driving after he had been drinking.

He was taken to the sheriff's office for arrest processing, where he took provided a breath sample. Vrabel's B.A.C. was .22% at the time, almost triple the legal limit of .08%.

Vrabel was released and is scheduled to appear in the City of Binghamton Court at a later date.

Charges:
-Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony
-Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony
-Speed in zone, an infraction
-Failure to maintain lane, an infraction
-Inadequate exhaust on motor vehicle, an infraction
