Police: Intoxicated man hits pedestrian with vehicle

Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Thomas B. Getzke, 25, of Owego, is charged with vehicular assault in the second gree (Class E felony), driving while intoxicated (misdemeanor) and refusal to take a breath test, which is a violation.

The Owego Police Department reported that on Saturday, June 14, just before 11 p.m., officers were called to respond to a report of a pedestrian hit by a car on East Main Street in the Village.

Officers said Getzke, the driver of the vehicle, was intoxicated.

He was arrested, arraigned in the Village of Owego court and released on his own recognizance.

The victim was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital by the Owego Emergency Squad.
