Man arrested for making meth after falling asleep behind the wheel

Whitney Point, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Binghamton man is charged with manufacturing meth after falling asleep at the wheel and crashing into a snow bank.

New York State Police found Cody McNeilly asleep behind the wheel of a running vehicle at approximately 6:35 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle was lodged in a snow bank on Collins Street in Whitney Point.

State Police found items used to make meth and a small amount of meth after searching the vehicle.

McNeilly is charged with unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, a class D felony, and possession of a controlled substance and driving while ability impaired by drugs, both misdemeanors.

He was arraigned in Triangle Town Court and taken to the Broome County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 dollars bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
