Man arrested for trying to break into ATM

Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A man from Johnson City is in jail after police say he tried to break into an ATM machine at a bank twice.

On Saturday, February 23, Johnson City Police arrested Gerald Wicks, 47, of Main Street in Johnson City.

Wicks is charged with two counts of Attempted Grand Larceny in the third degree (a felony).

Police say Wicks attempted to break into a ANTM machine at the NBT bank on Main Street on Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23.

Police found him behind the bank and he was arrested.

Wicks was arraigned in the Village of Johnson City court and sent to the Broome County Jail.
