Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Merlin's, a bar known for its openness to the gay and lesbian community, is relocating to a new space on 73 Court Street. The location is four times larger than its old spot.

The new location will include two bars, a dance club, and a wine cellar. Merlin's will feature Binghamton's first wine bar.

The bar will also hang a rainbow flag in support of Binghamton's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered community.

Owner Lauren Hering said she's proud that her bar will take center stage downtown.

"We are your neighbors, we are your doctors, your lawyers, your entrepreneurs," said Hering, "And we are committed to our community, and serving the Binghamton area. And we are very excited to be down here making it happen."

The bar will serve food as part of a partnership with PS Restaurant in Vestal.

The new Merlin's is expected to open for the next First Friday on December 7.
