Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Two men are arrested for stealing metal after their truck gets stuck in the mud.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office responded to a property along Nanticoke Drive just after 5 p.m. Thursday night. The owner had reported that an unknown vehicle was stuck in the mud on his posted property.

Deputies found several pieces of construction metal and chains in the truck bed, which had been taken off of the property.

Andrew Honnick, 32, of Endicott, and Chad Schurr, 23, of Little Meadows, were taken into custody just after 9 a.m. Friday when they approached investigators, who had returned to the scene, asking what had happened to their truck.

Both men were charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree and criminal trespass in the third degree, both misdemeanors.

They were processed and released to appear in the town of Union court at a future date.
