Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) After decades of helping others, a local organization celebrated a milestone Thursday night.

Mom's House hosted its annual Solution of Hope Banquet at Traditions at the Glen.

Thursday's celebration was a special one for the nonprofit, as the evening marked 25 years of service to the community.

Mom's House caters to low income, single parents.

The program offers childcare for parents attending school.

Executive Director Laura Bowen reflected on how far they've come.

"We started out with six parents initially, three unpaid staff, and we've grown since then. We can provide up to 40 spots in our childcare center," said Bowen.

Mom's house prides itself on low child to staff ratios and nutritious meals among other things.

It's located on Harry L. Drive in Johnson City.
