Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It's an opportunity most may not treasure until they're older in life. On Saturday, girls had the chance to take their moms to a dance.

The Junior League of Binghamton's 7th annual Mother Daughter Dance was held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Hall in Endicott.

"I love spending time with my mom, and I think this has been one of the best dances they've done this year," Lizzie England said.

Proceeds from the event will raise money for the Junior League of Binghamton, which is a group of women who take on projects to better Binghamton,

One project was Story Garden at the Discovery Center.

The organization's next project will be to build a playground outside of the Kopernik Science Center.

Proceeds from the dance will also go toward the Junior League Scholarship Fund.
