(WBNG Binghamton) New York State Police issued a warning to the public Saturday morning on potentially fraudulent donations requests regarding Trooper Christopher Skinner.

According to troopers, accounts may be created on the internet requesting donations from the public for the deceased trooper's family.

The Skinner family wants to inform the community they are only endorsing two funds for donations currently.

The first is the “Skinner Children Ed Fund,” set up at the Visions Federal Credit Union. People can go to any Visions location and make a donation to this education fund for the Skinner children.

The second is the Signal 30 Fund. This is an organization that helps the families of New York State Police.

The Skinner family also wishes to thank everyone who wants to help.
