Nichols, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Tioga Downs announced more details about its planned expansion, should it be awarded a Las Vegas-style casino license.
The casino said it plans to partner with Ageless Spa, to offer spa services at the casino.
Casino owner, Jeff Gural, and Ageless Spa owner, Michael Cilip, said it's all in part to make Tioga Downs Casino a destination experience.
"It will be a nice addition to the wedding groups that come in and use this as a destination location and more of a convention location," Cilip said.
However, it is also a factor the State's Gaming Commission will take into account, when it makes its decision in November.
Tioga Downs also announced, it will be holding a 'Business Networking Fair' on Sept. 12th.
Tioga Downs said currently the casino uses about 1,000 vendors, and if it wins the bid, that could potentially double.
At the very least, Tioga Downs expect the number of vendors it'll need to increase by 50 percent. Another factor, in the state's decision.
Sept. 8th is when the state gaming commission will hear the proposals for a new casino in the Southern Tier.
The public will have a chance to speak directly to the gaming commission on September 24th, at Hotel Ithaca in Ithaca.
Each person will be given five minutes to express their thoughts on which casino they support, a significant factor the gaming commission will use to decide which location will be awarded the casino license.
"20 percent is based on public opinion, and we have a tremendous story to tell because of the support Tioga Downs has gathered over the years," said Tom Osieck who is the President of Tioga Downs.
