(WBNG Binghamton) Newark, N.J., is getting some Southern Tier flavor.

The Jones brothers have been leaving their mark on professional sports all year.

And now, younger brother Jon "Bones" Jones is about to defend his UFC Light Heavyweight Champion title with some cheering on by local fans.

Plenty of Greater Binghamton locals were at the UFC Tailgate party Saturday.

"I'm just ready for the excitement of the atmosphere," Josh Payne said. "And to see the crowd go wild and see this happen in person."

"I have been following Jon Jones since he was in the general circuit," Scott Lazarek, of Rochester, said. "I've coached his cousins. I've got family members that work in my building. He's got a lot of family in Rochester."

"I heard he was back in Newark, so we got the family together," Marcus Payne said. "Ready to watch him win."

For those who couldn't make the trip to Newark, some headed to Oasis bar in Johnson City, where they knew they would be in a great atmosphere.

"It's crazy," bartender Stephanie Valent said. "The energy in here is really high, and everybody is really excited, especially when he wins. Everyone goes crazy."

Jones custom shirts were sold along with other specials at Oasis.

The bar holds regular UFC viewing parties.
