Norwich man, woman arrested for stealing scrap metal with toddler

Norwich, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Norwich man and woman were arrested for stealing scrap metal with a toddler in their care, according to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office.

Troopers arrested Tamara Shoales, 30, and Quinn Brown, 35, Friday.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office said Shoales and Brown trespassed onto private property on County Road 32 owned by Chenango County Asphalt.

Troopers said they stole scrap metal while a three-year-old child was with them.

The manager of Chenango County Asphalt saw the vehicle and confronted them.

Shoales and Quinn were issued appearance tickets. They are charged with petit larceny, conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child and trespass.

Both are scheduled to report to the Town of Norwich Court at a later time.
