Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) People were cheering in a suite at the Binghamton Regency Tuesday night.
That's where Gary O'Neill and his camp were waiting for results to come in.
His friends, family and campaign members enjoyed food and kept close tabs on the numbers.
O'Neill says he can't wait to get to work on his campaign for Broome County Sheriff.
"I'm feeling pretty good. It's a minor victory. The primary victory, it was like going to school. This is first time I've ever run for office so I've learned an awful lot that I can turn around and apply for the big run in November," said O'Neill (D), Candidate for Broome County Sheriff.
The Democrat is up against current Broome County Sheriff, Republican David Harder.
