Victim identified in deadly motorcycle crash in Apalachin

Apalachin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A man was killed after motorcycle crash in Apalachin Sunday afternoon.

Auburn Lyons, 43, of South Gibson, PA, died, according to New York State Police.

At approximately 1:40 p.m., troopers responded to the intersection of State Route 434 and Pennsylvania Avenue.

Donald Ulmer Sr., 71, of Little Meadows, PA, was driving a 1997 Buick sedan westbound on SR 434 and turned left onto Pennsylvania Avenue in front of a Yamaha motorcycle driven by Lyons. Lyons was heading east approaching the intersection with Pennsylvania Avenue.

The Tioga County Coroner pronounced Lyons dead at the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Lyons Monday at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.

New York State DOT and the Apalachin Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
