(WBNG Binghamton) A pipeline that's proposed to run through parts of New York and Pennsylvania has some shortcomings, according to one local group.

Members of Citizen Action voiced their opinion on the proposed project Monday.

They said the written proposal submitted to the federal government is too generic, with both misinformation and missing information.

Members of Citizen Action said property owners have expressed fear over what a pipeline would do to the future of their land.

They hope the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission -- which oversees the approval of such projects -- will withdraw the publication and force the companies to rework it.

The comment period on the project ends Tuesday.
