Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Zion Lutheran School celebrates National Lutheran Schools Week with activities planned for students each day.

Wednesday was Grandparent's Day.

The students invited their grandparents and members of the Zion Lutheran Church congregation to their weekly chapel service.

Children prepared and read poetry to their guests and sang songs.

In the afternoon, the older students used the Internet to go on an online mission trip to Kenya, Africa.

"Thursday is Pajama Day and on Friday, we are doing a mission project through the Tioga County Rural Ministries. We're going to go there for about an hour and help them do some things," said Heather Roseboom, kindergarten and first grade teacher.

Zion Lutheran School has 49 students enrolled from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade.
