Hallstead, PA (WBNG Binghamton) Plenty of damage is left behind in one Pennsylvania town after a line of thunderstorms moved through the area.

Several viewers submitted pictures from Hallstead, where trees were blown down across a several block area Saturday.

Most of the damage was found between Chase Avenue and Brewster Street.

The National Weather Service in Binghamton confirmed Wednesday that a microburst was responsible, with wind speeds reaching as high as 60 miles per hour.

A microburst is different from a tornado in that the winds blow in a straight line versus the rotating winds of a tornado.

According to the National Weather Service, topography in the area may have accelerated the winds locally

No one was injured.
