Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A former village of Endicott trustee is throwing his hat into the race for Town of Union Supervisor.

Endicott native Frank Palmisano announced his candidacy for the position on Tuesday day at Brothers II in Endicott.

The Democrat served as a village of Endicott trustee for 10 years.

He said he would be the new voice that the town needs, and would actively support a casino in Broome County. He also said he would fight to fix the Endicott-Johnson building.

"We need to keep our tax dollars here, we need to use the tax dollars to keep property taxes down. We're among one of the highest in the nation, in Broome County and certainly the state. We need to reduce that, we need to keep working in the Town of Union and make it a better place to live and work," Palmisano said.

The Union-Endicott alumnus will be challenging current Town Supervisor, Rose Sotak (R). The general election will be held on November 4.
