Pedestrian killed in crash

Town of Deposit, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a truck in the Town of Deposit Saturday.

Barbara Seymour, 79, of Deposit was struck and killed while walking hear her home along State Route 8 around 6:55 pm.

New York State Police charged the driver of the truck, James Gruscavage, 58, of Deposit with second degree Vehicular Manslaughter.

Troopers believe Gruscavage had been drinking, but are waiting for the results of a court ordered blood alcohol test.

Gruscavage was traveling south and towing a snowmobile. State Police have not completed the accident reconstruction and have not determined yet where Seymour was when hit.

Seymour was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Gruscavage was arraigned and released on bail from the Delaware County Jail.
