The owner of Pizzeria in Johnson City is charged with worker's compensation fraud.

The New York State Workers' Compensation Board believes 50 year old Claudio Carpentieri submitted false documentation.

He is the owner of Nando's Pizza and Subs on Harry L. Drive.

Prosecutors say Carpentieri stated he had no employees to avoid paying workers' compensation insurance.

But, investigators found that he employed 3 people.

Carpentieri tells Action News that those employees are actually his children.

He could face up to four years in prison if convicted of workers compensation fraud and offering a false instrument for filing.
