(Binghamton WBNG) The man suspected of robbing two local stores this weekend is picked up at a gas station tonight. And all of it played out over the airwaves.
Less than an hour after Binghamton police announced an updated description Monday evening, the man they were searching for was arrested at Manley's Mighty Mart on Clinton Street.
Officers spotted the van the man was supposedly driving: A 2001 green Chevrolet Venture with Pennsylvania license plates.
Police were combing through that van at around 8:30 p.m.
According to emergency radio traffic, the man was suspected of armed robbery at the Binghamton Walgreens and the Kwik Fill gas station on Floral Avenue.
In each of those incidents police said he flashed a weapon, most recently at the Kwik Fill gas station, where he allegedly showed the cashier a four-inch folding knife.
