Police ask for help in weekend stabbing investigations

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Police released more information about three men who suffered stab wounds over the weekend and asked for public assistance.

Binghamton police responded to General Hospital just before 12:30 a.m. on Saturday and found Jermal Folks, 30, who had been stabbed in the torso.

Paramedics treated and released him.

Three hours later, police responded to 14 1/2 Doubleday St.

There, they found that Calvin Slater, 23, had been stabbed in the torso, and Steven Warner, 28, had been stabbed in the neck and chest.

Witnesses said they saw five black men enter the home before stabbing Slater.

As they were leaving, Warner confronted them and was attacked and stabbed, according to police.

Witnesses described one of the men as having long dreadlocks and another with a heavy build.

Paramedics took Warner and Slater to Wilson Hospital.

Police said both cases are related.

They arrested Abdoul Balume, 31, of Syracuse, in connection with the stabbing of Slater and charged him with one count of assault in the second degree.

Police said they are still investigating and asked anyone with information is asked to call Binghamton detectives at (607) 772-7080.
