Police investigate shots fired in Ithaca

Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Ithaca Police are investigating a possible shooting early Saturday morning.

At approximately 12:20 a.m., police were called to the area of Abbott Lane and the West Village Apartments for reports of shots fired.

Tompkins County dispatch said it received multiple calls from people in the area reporting gunfire.

Upon arrival, police were unable to find anyone injured.

Residents in the area told police they heard the sound of gunshots and men running from the area following the shooting.

Police recovered multiple bullet casings they said are likely from a semi-automatic handgun.

No suspects have been identified at this time. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Ithaca Police Department Investigations Division.
