Police: Man accidentally shoots self at Johnson City motel

Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Two people arrested after a man reported he had been shot Friday.

Johnson City Police were called to the Red Roof Inn on Fairview Street just before 2:00 a.m.

Police received reports that a man had been shot by an unknown person that fled the scene. When officers arrived, it was discovered that Aaron Cerecke, 24, of Kernersville, NC had accidentally shot himself.

Officers said Cerecke shot himself in the hand and leg after his girlfriend, Bridget Frazier, 21, also of Kernersville, NC handed him the loaded gun.

Police searched their room and two vehicles and found cocaine, morphine and marijuana.

Cerecke was arraigned and taken to Wilson Hospital for treatment. Frazier was arraigned in Johnson City Village Court and is being held at the Broome County Jail.

Aaron Cerecke:
-Criminal possession of a weapon, fourth degree, class A misdemeanor
-Falsely reporting an incident, class A misdemeanor
-Criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh degree, class A misdemeanor

Bridget Frazier:
-Criminal possession of a weapon, fourth degree, class A misdemeanor
-Falsely reporting an incident, class A misdemeanor
-Criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh degree, class A misdemeanor
-Unlawful possession of marijuana, violation
