Samurai sword-wielding man arrested, two injured

(WBNG Binghamton) Police arrested a man accused of slicing two people with a samurai sword.

Binghamton police took Kyle Wood of Binghamton into custody Thursday in Johnson City.

According to police, Wood swung the sword at two people Oct. 27, on Colfax Avenue.

One of the victims, a 40-year-old, underwent emergency surgery at Lourdes Hospital. His condition was not released.

The other suffered a major injury to his hand and almost lost some of his fingers, police said.

Wood had two outstanding warrants for his arrest for assault in the first and second degree.
