Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A friend of Aaron Powell's told the jury he spoke with the man on trial for double murder the night of the two killings.

His friend, Todd Fedor, told jurors Powell called him several times the night his estranged wife and her friend were killed.

He said Powell told him, "He had an extension cord in the car, he could kill them both," during one of the phone conversations.

Powell is accused of killing Christina Powell, 35, and Mario Masciarelli, 24.

Fedor said Powell called him when he was at the Airport Inn searching for Christina on March 21, 2013.

Then during a later conversation, Fedor said Powell told him he was following Christina and Mario home to her house on 4185 Lisi Lane in the Town of Binghamton.

Fedor said he responded to Powell, "What are you doing, go be with your kid."

Jurors were shown surveillance footage taken from the Airport Inn security cameras that night.

Several clips showed a man peering into the windows and side door as Christina and Mario were saying their goodbyes and leaving for home.

Once again, Aaron Powell was not in the courtroom for his trial in Broome County Court. District Attorney Gerald Mollen will continue calling witnesses for the prosecution on Monday.
