Carlisle, PA (WBNG Binghamton) A pregnant women's lacrosse coach, her unborn baby and a bus driver died and three others were injured Saturday after a bus crash in Cumberland County, Pa.
The Seton Hill women's lacrosse team tour bus crashed at approximately 9 a.m., Saturday, on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near mile marker 227.
According to Cumberland County Department of Public Safety, Kristina Quigley, 30, of Greensburg, died from her injuries at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Quigley was about 6 months pregnant. The baby did not survive.
Anthony Guaetta, 61, of Johnstown, was driving the bus and died at the scene.
Three others on the bus were airlifted for injuries.
The bus was a MLAKER Charter and Tours charter bus; the company is based in Davidsville, PA. It was carrying the Seton Hill women's lacrosse team to Millersville University in Lancaster. On the bus were 23 students, three coaches and the driver. Those without injuries were taken to a local fire company.
Turnpike Commission Spokesperson Bill Capone said the bus was traveling east, and about one mile past the Carlisle Interchange, the bus went off the road, through the guiderail and hit a tree.
The cause of the accident is still unknown.
