Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Local law enforcement turned to the basketball court to help one local man diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The two teams, "Protect" and "Serve," consisted of officers from almost every local department. Along with charging $5 at the door, there was a raffle full of items donated by local businesses. It was all to help David Clark, the brother of a Binghamton police patrolman. Clark has been battling recurrent colorectal cancer. "The community has been great. We get support from local businesses, the B Mets, local restaurants. The whole community is coming together and really helping us out," said Brad Kaczynski, of the Binghamton Police Department. Friday's basketball game is the first of its kind. But organizers hope to make it an annual occurrence, picking a new charity or cause each year.
