Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Hundreds of people came out to get a good bargain and help fund the county's humane society.

The Broome County Humane Society held its annual rummage sale at The American Legion Post 80 on Saturday.

Shoppers rummaged through everything from cups to toys, to holiday ornaments. All of the items were donated this week.

The Humane Society will use all the money raised to help find homes for their animals and all of their extra costs.

Organizers say the annual sale is important to the Humane Society, because it helps make up for a lack in government funding.

"We get donations of people's time, basket goods, we get food, supplies for the office, supplies for the animals, doggie treats, and beds," said Kim Broderick of the Humane Society. "You name it, we rely on all of it."

The sale drew more than 200 people.

Organizers hope to make $3,000 at this year's event.
