Hanna wins Republican primary

(WBNG Binghamton) Rep. Richard Hanna declared victory in the primary for the 22nd Congressional district seat.

As of 7 a.m. Wednesday, 25 of 29 counties reported to the New York State Board of Elections.

-Richard Hanna: 52.60%

-Claudia Tenney: 46.96%

Bijoy Datta, Broome County Republican Chairman, issued a statement congratulating Hanna on the victory.

"Today’s win shows that voters want pragmatic leadership. They don’t want government that grinds to a halt or political grandstanding, " said Datta, "We look forward to continuing to work with Richard Hanna over the next two years. I’m confident that he’ll continue to deliver effective representation for Broome County and the rest of the 22nd District."
