Albany, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Hydrofracking regulations are unveiled by New York's Department of Environmental Conservation, but with some revisions, requiring more public input on the matter.
The DEC filed a Notice of Continuation, extending the rule making process for ninety days, according to information provided on its website.
Posted with it are a series of changes to it proposed regulations. For example, express terms have been revised in sections regarding the prohibition of surface disturbance on state lands. Another revision involves the terminology used throuhghout the SGEIS.
Thursday was the deadline for New York State to adopt rules governing the natural gas drilling process or to make changes.
The public will have from Dec. 12 to Jan. 11, 2013, to submit their comments.
