Bridge Update at 5:55am
According to information from authorities operating overnight, only the highway 201 bridge is open for traffic across the river. All other bridges are closed to civilian traffic. The State Street bridge in Binghamton is open to emergency responders only.
Village of Waverly, NY:
Broad Street (between Johnson St and lower Clark St)
Lincoln Street (from Clinton Ave to Lyman Ave)
Liberty Street (Waverly St to Lincoln St)
The bridge on Chemung St (Rt 17C) near Cayuta Ave is closed to all traffic.
The local red Cross has opened a relief shelter at the Waverly Jr-Sr High School on Frederick Street in Waverly for anyone in need of shelter or assistance.
BROOME COUNTY:
- Rt 7A @ Stillwater Rd - Closed
- Rt 11 @ Brooks Rd (CR 105) - Closed
- Rt 26 West Corners @ Day Hollow Rd NB/SB - Closed
- Rt 26 just N of Rt 38B - Closed
- Rt 26 in Glen Aubrey closed at the fire station 3800 block, just south of Shady Dr. - Closed
- Rt 38B at Tioga County line - Closed
- I-81 NB on-ramp at Exit 7 (Castle Creek) - Closed
- I-81 both directions single lane at Milepost 21 (this is Castle Creek) - Closed
- I-88 both directions from start/I-81 to Exit 3 (Port Crane/NY 7B and 369) - Closed
- Rt 79 @ Alexander Rd - Closed
- Rt 79 & 369 @ intersection - Closed
CHENANGO COUNTY:
- Rt 7 Bainbridge closed @ NY Route 226 over the Cohocton River in the Village of Savona
- Rt 8 from Sidney to CR 35 –over Guilford Ck closed due to approach washout
- Rt 12 at Rt 206 closed
- Rt 206 – Kelsey Brook CLOSED (water over bridge)
TIOGA COUNTY:
- Rt 17WB Exit 62 Ramp - Closed
- Rt 38B at Broome County line - Closed
- Rt 96 Owego, NS Railroad Bridge underpass - Closed
- Rt 282 closed at NY Route 282 over Wappasening Creek in the Town of Nichols. Water is hitting the bottom of the bridge. Road may not actually be flooded. Town of Nichols
- Rt 282 Town of Nichols (Approach slab washout) - Closed
- Rt 434 between Rt 17 Exits 64 (Owego) and 65 (Apalachin) - Closed
