Route 38B Accident Claims Child's Life

Town of Maine, NY (WBNG Binghamton) New York State Police say a 10 year old girl from Endicott died when two vehicles hit on Route 38B Monday morning.

Taylor Estrella was pronounced dead at the scene by the Broome County Coroner.

Her grandmother, Nancy Treat, 60, of Endicott is being treated at Wilson Hospital for multiple injuries.

State Police say a Taylor Garbage GMC recycling utility truck was stopped on the eastbound shoulder.

It was taking recycling collections.

Treat was driving a Chevrolet Blazer east on Route 38B.

State Police say at approximately 8:24 a.m, Treat's vehicle went onto the shoulder and collided with the recycling truck.

Troopers are continuing their investigation.
