Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Room to Heal held their second annual 5K and mile-long family walk Sunday at Otsiningo Park.

The organization gives bedroom makeovers to local children dealing with serious medical conditions.

A Room to Heal is currently working on one young boy's room and are preparing to do four more in the near future.

Sunday's event is one of their largest fundraisers, and with about 250 runners this year, organizers consider it a huge success.

"This is just a phenomenal event and now we have so much more awareness of a Room to Heal and more and more people want to get involved because of this event and the event itself provides enough money to provide four healing rooms for local children," Laurie Abess, Co-Founder and Executive Director of A Room to Heal, said.

First place overall for women went to WBNG's own Kelly McCarthy.

Congratulations to her and all of the other runners.
