SUNY BEST urges local businesses to think global

Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Businesses in the Southern Tier could be missing out on the economic benefits of global alliances.

The SUNY Business and Education Cooperative of the Southern Tier (BEST) is a volunteer group that features guest speakers to explore ways to strengthen business and economic development.

Their most recent topic is "Binghamton Global Business Alliance," which guides local companies to take advantage of international opportunities.

"It's happening. And we can take advantage of it we can leverage it we can make life better for all of us if we do this. Our economy will grow, the number of jobs will grow and our economy will grow," said Tom Kowalik, of SUNY BEST.

Thursday's guest speaker was Stephen Day, of McKinney Real Estate in Vestal.

His discussion featured examples of how he's seen global alliances work for businesses in the area.
