Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Tioga Downs Casino spoke with SUNY Broome students on Thursday about casino gaming in New York State and its own plans to advance.

The discussion ranged from the history of casino gaming, current laws and regulations, marketing the casino operation and talk on a variety of casino games.

The speakers also touched on the state's change to allow four commercial casinos in New York.

Students and staff asked questions at the end of the speech about how a casino would be run and possible opportunities for local jobs in the area.

"We've been promising and now we're doing. The parking garage that we've been promising started in November of 2013 and will be done in October of 2014. 276 parking spots,” said Jeff Townsend, Assistant Manager and Director of Casino Operations.

Additional plans include a hotel convention center and to add more restaurants.
