SUNY Delhi students arrested for drug sales

Delhi, NY (WBNG Binghamton) In Delaware County's ongoing crackdown on drugs, three SUNY Delhi students have been arrested.

This comes after a three-month investigation by the Delaware County Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division.

Two of the students, Matthew Balzano, 21, of Chester, and Robert H. Plaut, 20, of Farmingdale, are accused of selling a hallucinogen known as "Molly." The third student arrested, Jerome Swaggard, 21, of Brooklyn, was arrested for selling marijuana.

Charges:

- Balzano: Two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony;

- Plaut: Two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, and one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony;

- Swaggard: Criminal sale of marijuana in the third degree, a class E felony, and criminal sale of marijuana in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor.

They were arraigned and sent to the Delaware County Jail without bail pending future court appearances.
