Sidney, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The democratic candidate for the 19th congressional district focuses his campaign on small businesses.

Julian Schreibman is hoping to beat incumbent Republican Chris Gibson.

Schreibman argues Gibson pushes the Tea Party agenda in Washington.

He says the focus should be on upstate New York's small businesses and farmers.

That, he says, is one of his main goals.

"Tax relief for small businesses so that they can continue to add employees. Making sure that they're not dealing with regulations that were written for the big guys with the lobbyists and the lawyers and that small businesses can't deal with," said Schreibman.

Schreibman is currently a partner in a law firm.

He used to do prosecution work for the C.I.A and received the Attorney General's Distinguished Service Award for assisting in the prosecution and conviction of four al Qaeda members for bombing U.S. embassies.
