Schumer issues statement on final Greek Peak deal

April 22, 2013 Updated Apr 22, 2013 at 4:47 PM EDT

(WBNG Binghamton) New York Senator Charles E. Schumer on Monday announced that Greek Peak’s new owners Marc Stemerman and John Meier have officially closed the deal to purchase the Greek Peak Resort in Cortland.

The following is Senator Schumer's statement on the matter:

“After clearing an important final mogul this weekend, it’s happy skiing at Cortland County’s Greek Peak Resort. Greek Peak’s new owners have sealed the deal, and have committed to continue operating this iconic Central New York resort, which employs many hundreds of local residents, for years to come. I have fought hard to keep Greek Peak open during tough ski seasons and financial hardship, because it’s too important to lose, and I will continue to advocate for this Upstate New York winter hot-spot and its employees.”
