(WBNG Binghamton) Seneca County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible boating incident/missing person case.

Christopher Dennis, 22, of Cayuga Heights Road in Ithaca, left a campsite in the town of Covert early Wednesday around 5 a.m. by himself and put a canoe into Cayuga Lake.

The Seneca County Sheriff's Navigation Patrol along with the Romulus Fire rescue boat searched the area Wednesday.

The Sheriff's office reports that further investigation and search efforts are resuming Thursday.
