Secret Service has New Addition

(WBNG Binghamton) There will be an unlikely addition to the Secret Service during President Obama's Inaugural parade on Monday.

Six-Year-Old Nathan Norman will be joining the ranks.

Norman is battling a deadly type of brain cancer.

Last September, Norman's mom, Dawn, asked him what he wanted for Christmas.

His response? He wanted cards sent to him from police officers and firefighters.

What he got was an outpouring of letters, YouTube videos and visits from police, firefighters, EMS and even the Secret Service; all people Norman considers his heroes.

"He's 100 percent boy. To him police, fire, EMS, military that's his heroes," Dawn Norman said.

Norman is going through chemotherapy now. But his recent visitors were just the beginning.

The boy who only asked for cards for Christmas will soon be riding in a limousine behind the president in the Inaugural Parade.
