Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The city of Binghamton wants to sell a plot of land in the downtown area.

Binghamton Mayor Rich David announced Friday morning the city has initiated the process of selling 70-72 Court Street, which is currently being used as a green space at the corner of State Street.

David says the city is seeking for proposals from people and developers interested in the property.

The corner came into the news in the fall of 2011 when Occupy protesters used it as a campsite for weeks.

The space, which is 0.13 acres, is zoned for retail stores, specialty shops and other businesses.

The property is being sold as-is.
