(WBNG Binghamton) Cold temperatures and blustery winds are accompanying a weekend full of snowflakes.
The coldest air yet this season will drop into the northeast Saturday night and Sunday behind an arctic cold front.
Lake effect snow showers are expected to last through Sunday evening. Accumulations are likely in the Twin Tiers, though how much actually piles up will depend highly on wind direction.
While some areas close to the Binghamton area and northeastern Pennsylvania may only get a trace to a few short inches, northern Cortland and Chenango counties could be seeing a lot more by Sunday night.
