Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Seniors celebrated the holiday, Cinco de Mayo, at the Emeritus at Woodland Place on Monday.

Residents danced and ate traditional Mexican food, including fried ice cream.

"We just want to bring smiles to our residents faces..fill our community with laughter, let them know they're still part of the world." said Memory Care Program Director Angela Champlin. "Just because they're here, doesn't mean they're not part of the big world,"

Residents at Emeritus often celebrate holidays of other cultures.
