Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Sunday marked the beginning of Catholic Schools Week.

To help the national celebration start on the right note, Seton Catholic Central's chorus and vocal groups put on a performance at the mall.

The group sang at the Oakdale Mall's center court for half an hour Sunday afternoon.

The members are getting ready to travel to Disney in April, so they used this performance as a tune-up.

"When you're singing in a group of people, it's really cool," said Cassie McCormick, a senior in the group. "Everybody really sounds good and is jamming. It's not that hard. You don't even notice the crowd."

Catholic Schools Week recognizes the some two million students taught in the 7,000 catholic schools across the country.

Here in Broome County, there are four catholic schools that teach about 1,000 students from Pre-Kindergarten through high school.
