Masonville, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A man is arrested after damaging five New York State Police vehicles during a chase through a Delaware County town.

It all began on State Route 206 in Masonville, where New York State Police located Edward Sherman who, according to state police, had several vehicle and traffic violations outstanding.

He led police on a pursuit to Randell Hill Road where he stopped and then backed into two police cruisers with his truck.

The chase continued to the Fiumera Stone Quarry off Cummings Road, where police said Sherman hit three more cruisers before fleeing on foot.

State police searched for three hours before finding Sherman hiding in a field off of Teed Road.

Sherman was arraigned in the Town of Franklin Court on several charges including four counts of reckless endangerment in the first degree, four counts of criminal mischief in the second degree, and unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree.

He was sent to the Delaware County Jail on $30,000 bail.
