Sheriff: Man hits UPS truck, BAC more than three times legal limit

Town of Colesville, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Sheriff's Office arrested Scott E. Jones, 42, of Sherburne, on Thursday.

Deputies responded to a two-car crash involving a UPS truck at the intersection of Walling Road and Route 7. The sheriff's office said Jones made an improper right turn and hit the truck.

No injuries were reported from the crash.

The sheriff's office said Jones showed signs of being intoxicated when deputies arrived.

He was arrested and taken to the sheriff's office and agreed to a breath test. Deputies said his alcohol measured 0.30. The legal limit in New York is 0.08.

Jones was released and is scheduled to appear in Town of Colesville Court at a later date.

- DWI (misdemeanor)
- Aggravated DWI (misdemeanor)
- Improper right turn (infraction)
- Refused breath screening device (infraction)
