Sheriff: Man steals and scraps copper pipe

(WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division arrested Donald R. House, 32, of Endicott in connection with theft of copper pipe.

House is accused of cutting all the copper piping and baseboard heating units from an apartment he was squatting in the Town of Union. Deputies say House then scrapped the metal for cash.

He is charged with criminal mischief in the 2nd degree, a felony and grand larceny in the 4th degree, a felony.

House was taken into custody on May 14 in the Village of Endicott and arraigned on the charges in the Town of Union Court. He was remanded to the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility on $2,000 bail.
