Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Police are looking for a man after a shooting sends the victim to the hospital.

At approximately 10:45 p.m. Sunday, the Ithaca Police Department responded to the 200 block of Elm St.

There, they found Jeremy Grant, 27, who had been shot three times.

Police said the man was reportedly attacked walking back to his home, when he was shot with a handgun.

Grant is being treated at a near-by trauma center.

He was able to run into his house after being shot where police found him.

The suspect ran off. He's described as a short, black male with a small build.

Officials say it appears that the shooter and Grant know each other, though Grant has been reluctant in providing details or identifying the suspect.

Ithaca police are looking for him.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ithaca Police at (607) 272-9973.
