Silver Lake Township, PA (WBNG Binghamton) According to friends, 50 year old Michael Sedor, of the Town of Binghamton was ice fishing Saturday evening around 4:30 p.m. on Silver Lake.

Sedor fell through the ice on the lake and drowned.

Family and friends are now only left with the memory of Sedor who everyone called Mick or Micky.

The 50 year old was a longtime employee at the Brackney Inn, working there for more than 20 years.

Friends say he was an avid outdoorsman.

He loved to fish and told jokes as people walked into the bar.

"I took him on his first plane ride to Florida. We went fishing and he was the only guy I've seen that caught a seagull. Micky was a piece of work," says friend Arnne Bennett.

Friends say recalling his humor will keep the memory of their dear friend Micky alive.

The Silver Lake Fire Department was in charge of the investigation.

Chief Jay Klein said Sedor was with a friend when the ice gave way. Klein said the friend also fell into about seven to eight feet of water, but was able to escape.

But by the time he returned with a stick to help, Sedor was already submerged, Klein said.

Klein said the ice was about an inch and a half thick when the hole opened more than 25 feet from the dock at Silver Lake.
